About
Barbara is a guest character in Final Fantasy Dimensions. She is the orphan daughter of Abel, the leader of Deist's Dragoons. After the Avalonian Empire wiped out the dragoons, she was spirited away by her father's wind drake, Ceres. Raised among the dragons, Barbara came to see herself as one of them and shared their mistrust of human treachery--not improved when the Avalonians attacked the wind drakes with poison ten years later. Although initially belligerent towards the Warriors of Light, Barbara accepted their good intentions after they risked their lives to obtain a cure. She is roughly twenty years old, tall, and wears dragoon armor basically everywhere.
Personality
You could say that Barbara has poor social skills. She's quick to aggression, brusque, and doesn't see the need to explain her thought process to anyone else before she takes action. That combined with her rudimentary language would seem to show that she perfectly suits the meaning of her name, barbaric.
But specificity matters--Barbara has poor human social skills. Her behavior is entirely what you would expect from a dragon. Barbara is used to being a lone actor, relying on her own judgment. Most of the situations she's been in during her life have had some element of danger, so she takes the attitude that the best defense is a good offense. Dragons don't explain themselves because they aren't answerable to anyone but their own, and they don't waste time getting people on board once they've reached a decision.
Despite her appearance as a wild woman, Barbara is someone with strong and deep feelings. She is utterly devoted to those she cares for and would do absolutely anything to protect them, no matter the cost to herself. The thought of taking on an imperial air force or approaching a pain-maddened dragon doesn't intimidate her. You could accurately describe her as being single-minded. Whatever obstacles are in between her and her goal are much less important than achieving the goal itself.
Skills
As a dragoon, Barbara has a number of abilities at her disposal, physical and magical.
Jump: A dragoon's signature attack. She leaps high in the air, hangs there for a moment, and then plummets onto her enemy with tremendous force.
Fire Breath: Attacks all enemies with fire.
Thunder Breath: Attacks all enemies with lightning bolts.
Ice Breath: Attacks all enemies with razor-sharp ice.
Healing Breath: A medium-strength healing spell for her and all her allies.
